The MONTCLAIR JAZZ FESTIVAL MAINTAINS AN ACCESSIBLE + INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL
The MONTCLAIR JAZZ FESTIVAL strives to maintain an accessible and inclusive environment for all our visitors, participants, staff, and volunteers.
The Festival’s culminating event, the Downtown Jamboree, will take place in two parking lots across the street from each other. The Jazz House Stage and the Family Jazz Discovery Zone can be found in the “Upper Lot” on Bloomfield Avenue between Grove Street and Lackawanna Plaza. The Main Stage can be found across Grove Street in the “Lower Lot” between Bloomfield Avenue and Glenridge Avenue (behind the TD Bank). Our partner, BDP Holdings, will host an Art Fair inside the Lackawanna Plaza building adjacent to the Upper Lot. This building is spacious, air conditioned and compliant with all ADA code regulations to be accessible for all.
The Festival is an outdoor event and will be held rain or shine. All Festival activities take place in blacktop paved parking lots that are accessible via concrete sidewalks. There is a grassy area on Grove Street that slopes down into the Lower Lot, though use of this space is not recommended for those using mobility devices or who are visually impaired. All entrance points are on flat paved ground with ramps wherever there is a curb. In addition to the three general admission entrance points, there is an additional accessible entrance to the Lower Lot on Glenridge Avenue.
Please note that street parking is extremely limited. The following options have accessible parking available (distance from the entrance on Bloomfield Ave at Grove Street is noted):

Please note that if you regularly use a mobility device, particularly when traveling longer distances, we recommend that you bring it with you to the Festival. Accessible seating is available in the Lower Lot in front of the Main Stage.
An ASL Interpreter will be interpreting at both the Main Stage and the Jazz House stage, with a viewing area close to the interpreter’s platform.
There are accessible portable toilets located throughout the Festival grounds (all portable toilets are single-user, all-gender facilities). Nursing mothers can find privacy at the nursing tent located in the Family Jazz Discovery Zone on Lackawanna Plaza.
First Aid can also be found on Lackawanna Plaza.
As the Festival is in August, we recommend that all visitors come prepared for hot weather:

Water can be purchased at all of the Jazz Bars in addition to at any of the food vendors.

Cooling towels will be available for purchase at Festival Merchandise tents.

A large shaded area with tables and chairs is located in the Lower Lot.
Please note that this is a space shared by all guests at the Festival and is intended for short breaks only. Guests are invited to bring their own seating, but putting up shade tents is not permitted.
Service Animals are welcome in all areas of the Festival.
