The MONTCLAIR JAZZ FESTIVAL SoundCheck Series continues June 16 with an extraordinary night of jazz featuring two legendary artists deeply connected to America’s iconic jazz cities: pianist Jason Moran and saxophonist Bobby Watson.
Houston-born Jason Moran Quartet is celebrated as one of modern jazz’s most innovative creative forces, blending jazz tradition with contemporary improvisation, multimedia storytelling, and fearless experimentation. Kansas City native Bobby Watson, former musical director of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers, brings decades of soulful hard bop mastery and explosive saxophone artistry to the stage.
