Seeing the Count Basie Orchestra and the World Saxophone Quartet on the same roster tells you how wide the range actually is, since most players settle into one lane long before that point. Bruce Williams moving from traditional through hip-hop to avant-garde without losing his own voice is genuinely rare. I narrate archive concert clips for a community jazz page using DubBooth, and this Soundcheck set is worth revisiting.
