The JAZZ HOUSE Collective, directed by Nathan Eklund, is composed of nationally and internationally recognized jazz artists who also serve in the community as JAZZ HOUSE
faculty. Each year, the Collective features arrangements or compositions in tribute to one of jazz’s great luminaries. This year the Collective will celebrate revered vocalist Sarah Vaughan in recognition of her centennial year. Nicknamed “Sassy” and “the Divine One,” Vaughan, whose formidable vocal range went from baritone to soprano, sublime musicianship, and daring interpretations have inspired all subsequent generations of jazz singers. This special performance includes GRAMMY-winning vocalist Melissa Walker.
