We are thrilled to present COCOMAMA's eight-piece all-female Latin jazz orchestra, described as a virtual United Nations of women, with the members hailing from five countries on four continents. Playing their own kind of World Latin music, powerfully virtuosic yet elegantly musical, Cocomama "brings it" creating a sound that is all at once fierce and beautiful!
CHiCA POWER ALL-STARS
Opening for Stryker will be the CHiCA Power All-Stars, an ensemble of prodigious emerging artists, featuring a number of JAZZ HOUSE Alumni including the acclaimed young saxophonist and band leader, ZOE OBADIA. They will be performing original works as well as songs composed and inspired by important women in the jazz lineage including, Mary Lou Williams, Alice Coltrane, and more. The JAZZ HOUSE CHiCA POWER program is dedicated to empowering and cultivating the next generation of female talent on today's jazz scene.
DAVE STRYKER'S 8 TRACK BAND
We are thrilled to present the electric performance of guitarist DAVE STRYKER's 8 Track Band featuring vibraphonist WARREN WOLF, a celebration of classic pop tunes from the 70's reimagined.
Whether you've heard guitarist Dave Stryker leading his own group (with 30 CD's as a leader to date), or as a featured sideman with Stanley Turrentine, Jack McDuff, and many others, you know why he's been called one of the most distinctive guitarists to come along in recent years. He was recently voted into the 2020 Downbeat poll for the 11th time. Stryker's latest CD "Eight Track III" hit #1 for 6 weeks and was the #3 most played for the year on the JazzWeek Radio chart.
The band features the talented Warren Wolf, a talented multi-instrumentalist on vibraphone.
