The Montclair Jazz Festival Downtown Jamboree welcomes Luisito Quintero, a master percussionist whose rhythms have powered some of the biggest names in Latin jazz, funk, and soul. He takes the McBride's World at Sea Main Stage at Lackawanna Station on Saturday, September 13, 2025, for a performance guaranteed to ignite the streets.


🥁 Who Is Luisito Quintero?

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, and raised in a family of musicians, Luisito Quintero is widely recognized as one of the greatest percussionists of his generation. His explosive, intuitive command of the congas, timbales, bongos, and Afro-Caribbean percussion has made him a go-to collaborator for legends like:

"Ignite the streets" is the detail that stayed with me, because you’re not just announcing a musician there, you’re protecting the feeling of what a percussion-led set does to a whole I also ended up opening Fairplay weekly ad afterward because it carries the same thread a little further.
